FreeBSD is designed to be a server operating system. This becomes evident during the installation process. The FreeBSD installer is a console-based installation process and not a graphical user interface (GUI). Furthermore, the installation of desktop features like GNOME and KDE is only partially performed using the FreeBSD installer.
